According to police reports, the accused Shravan Ram engaged in a violent altercation with his wife Rekha Devi (35) at their residence in Parsia village. The argument, reportedly over domestic matters, escalated dramatically when Shravan attacked his sleeping wife with a wooden plank, striking her repeatedly on the head. The brutal assault proved fatal, with Rekha Devi succumbing to her injuries on the spot.
Sister-in-Law Injured While Trying to Intervene
The violence didn't end there. Dimple Devi (30), the wife of Shravan's younger brother Sajan Ram, rushed to the room upon hearing the commotion. In a courageous attempt to stop the fight, she intervened, only to become the accused's second victim. Shravan turned his aggression toward his sister-in-law, seriously injuring her before fleeing the scene.
The injured woman was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital in Buxar, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Medical authorities have described her condition as serious, raising concerns about her recovery prospects.
