Calcutta HC grants bail to Partha Chatterjee aide in scam

The Calcutta High Court on Friday granted bail to Prasanna Kumar Roy, a close aide of former West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee. Roy is an accused in the alleged school recruitment scam case.

Bail Conditions

Justice Jay Sengupta of the Calcutta High Court granted bail to Roy on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court has directed Roy to meet the investigating officer in the case once every week.

ED Investigation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Roy in July 2022 in connection with the school recruitment scam. The ED has so far attached properties worth Rs 698 crore in the case.
