The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Delhi Police inspector and two other individuals in connection with a bribery case involving Rs 3 crore. The agency has also initiated a probe into the role of a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official.
According to officials, the CBI registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Inspector Rajkumar, his associate Singh, and businessman N Raja. The arrests were made after a detailed investigation into allegations that the accused demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 3 crore to facilitate certain illegal activities.
Details of the Case
The accused individuals were allegedly involved in a conspiracy to extort money from the complainant. The CBI conducted raids at multiple locations, including the residence and office of the accused, and recovered incriminating documents and electronic evidence.
The DGCA official, whose identity has not been disclosed, is under scrutiny for his alleged nexus with the arrested individuals. The CBI suspects that the official may have provided undue favors in exchange for bribes.
Investigation and Legal Action
The CBI has taken the accused into custody and is conducting further interrogation to uncover the full extent of the corruption network. The agency has also summoned several individuals for questioning.
