CCTV Shows Assassins Fire at Water Supplier in Delhi

New Delhi: A day after the murder of a drinking water supplier in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur, CCTV footage has surfaced, showing three assailants pumping multiple rounds into him.

The footage, captured in a narrow lane, shows children sitting and playing nearby, and several people moving about in the area at the time of the attack.

The three men arrived on a scooter and stopped near the spot. One of them seemed to lose balance and stumble against a passing motorcyclist before they opened fire. The sudden burst of gunfire triggered panic, sending bystanders and children scrambling for cover as chaos gripped the area.

In another CCTV clip, the attackers were allegedly seen firing in the air while fleeing on their scooter.

According to police, Rashid, who was inside his shop, was critically injured and declared dead on arrival at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.

A team from Dayalpur police station reached the spot after being informed about the incident around 6.10 pm. Local residents claimed that around 15 rounds were fired during the attack. Police said neither Rashid nor other family members had any political affiliation. However, according to police, Rashid was a known bad character in the area and previously involved in cases of extortion, grievous hurt, theft and other criminal activities.

Police added that the accused had been identified and both the victim and the accused belonged to the same community. However, the motive behind the murder is not clear, said sources.
