Cement Factory General Manager Assaulted in Neemuch Over Extortion Demand

In a shocking incident of industrial intimidation, the technical general manager of an under-construction cement factory in Neemuch district was brutally assaulted by two men who allegedly demanded a monthly extortion payment of Rs 2 lakh. The assailants, claiming to be local dons, carried out the attack inside the industrial premises, highlighting growing concerns about organized crime targeting businesses in the region.

Violent Confrontation at Goldcrest Cement Factory

The assault occurred two days ago at the Goldcrest Cement factory site located in the Sagrana industrial area while construction activities were actively underway. According to the official complaint filed with authorities, two individuals identified as Mahendrasingh Saundhiya and Dalpatsingh Saundhiya forcibly entered the premises and began creating significant disturbance.

The accused reportedly abused factory staff members and attempted to intimidate workers through aggressive behavior. When factory general manager Gagan Tiwari intervened to stop the escalating situation, the situation turned violent. The assailants allegedly attacked Tiwari with an iron pipe, causing injuries to his hand during the confrontation.

Security Guard Also Targeted During Altercation

A security guard named Subhashchandra Sharma, who rushed to protect the general manager during the assault, also became a victim of the violence. Sharma was beaten by the accused, and his uniform was torn during the physical altercation, demonstrating the intensity of the attack.

Police reports indicate that the accused explicitly threatened that factory operations would not be permitted to continue unless they received regular protection money payments. This demand for Rs 2 lakh per month represents a significant extortion attempt targeting the industrial establishment.

Previous Disruption and Police Response

Investigations revealed that the assault was not an isolated incident. Just one day before the violent attack, the same individuals allegedly dumped gravel on the factory's main access road, deliberately blocking the route and causing financial losses to the company through operational disruption. Local police had to intervene to clear the obstructed pathway.

Cantonment police station in-charge Nilesh Avasthi confirmed that a formal case has been registered against the two accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the complaint filed by the factory general manager. Law enforcement authorities have launched an extensive search operation to locate and apprehend the suspects.

Evidence Captured on Surveillance Systems

The entire sequence of events, including the vandalism and physical assault, was recorded by CCTV cameras installed at the factory's office gate. This visual evidence is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing police investigation and subsequent legal proceedings against the accused individuals.

This incident raises serious questions about industrial security in the region and the challenges businesses face from organized extortion attempts. The Neemuch district administration and industrial associations are likely to review security protocols for manufacturing facilities following this violent episode.
