Chhatarpur Student Rape Case: Accused Arrested After Brutal Attack on 17-Year-Old
In a shocking incident in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, a 17-year-old Class 11 student was allegedly raped on Tuesday evening, leaving her critically injured and hospitalized. The survivor was discovered bleeding and unconscious in an open field, sparking immediate police action and community outrage.
Details of the Incident and Victim's Condition
The young girl left her home around 7 PM on Tuesday under the pretext of relieving herself. When she failed to return, her family grew concerned and initiated a search. They found her lying unconscious in a field, with her clothes stained with blood, indicating a severe assault. She was rushed to the district hospital, where she is currently undergoing intensive treatment for her injuries.
According to family members, the victim briefly regained consciousness and was heard muttering, "leave me, save me!" before losing consciousness again, highlighting the trauma she endured. The family prioritized securing medical assistance before alerting authorities, with police being informed once she reached the hospital.
Accusations and Arrest of the Suspect
The survivor's father has identified Tinku Thakur, a 23-year-old married resident of the same village, as the perpetrator. He alleged that Thakur had been stalking and harassing his daughter during her daily commute to coaching classes, persistently pressuring her to meet him. The father stated that the accused threatened to shoot her if she did not comply, leading the girl to meet him out of fear for her life on Tuesday.
Further allegations include that Thakur wore a mask and used a chemical spray to weaken the victim before committing the rape. Police responded swiftly, with the Additional SP and teams from Kotwali and Civil Lines police stations visiting the hospital to check on the victim. SP Agam Jain confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and charged under various sections, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, ensuring legal proceedings are underway.
