Cause of the Accident and Police Investigation
Preliminary investigations by local sources indicate that the mishap occurred due to one of the vehicles taking the wrong side of the road on NH-139. This violation of traffic rules led to the head-on collision between the officers' vehicle and the tipper truck.
Officer in charge of the Chhaterpur police station, Prashant Prasad, provided an update on the case. "Police have seized the tipper truck involved in the accident for further investigation. However, the driver of the tipper truck fled from the scene immediately after the collision," he stated. Authorities are actively searching for the absconding driver to ascertain further details and determine liability.

Dr. Rajesh Agrawal, the deputy medical superintendent of Chhaterpur sub-divisional hospital, commented on the condition of the injured officers. "Sanjay received stitches on his head and is doing fine. Jitender suffered a fracture on his left wrist. Both are responding well to treatment, and we are monitoring their recovery closely," he said.
The accident has raised concerns about road safety on NH-139, particularly regarding adherence to traffic regulations.
