Kolkata: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan deployed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has been arrested for allegedly raping a young woman multiple times under the pretext of marriage, Bidhannagar Police confirmed on Wednesday.
Arrest and Investigation
The accused, Parul Ahmed, was apprehended by Narayanpur police on June 9 following a written complaint filed by the victim. He is currently in police custody. Police have seized the hotel bedsheets and the accused’s uniform for forensic evaluation.
How the Incident Unfolded
According to police sources, the victim frequently visited RG Kar Hospital for her mother’s treatment, where she befriended Ahmed. The complainant alleged that the jawan later lured her to a hotel near Chinar Park, where he allegedly assaulted her and filmed objectionable videos. He then used the footage to blackmail and rape her two more times.
A lawyer and relative of the victim stated that the woman is undergoing hospital treatment and demanded the strictest punishment for the accused.
