A tragic road accident on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district claimed the lives of two men from Maharashtra on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Aniket Kale, a 28-year-old club cricketer, and Badrinath Nangre, a 30-year-old restaurant businessman. Both were residents of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra.
Details of the Accident
According to police, the accident occurred near Jamli village under Sendhwa Rural Police Station limits. The SUV in which the victims were traveling was heading towards Leh-Ladakh after visiting religious sites in Madhya Pradesh and other states. The driver likely dozed off, causing the vehicle to jump the divider and cross onto the opposite carriageway. The SUV flipped three to four times before colliding head-on with an oncoming truck.
O P Singh Chaungde, head of Sendhwa Rural Police Station, confirmed the sequence of events. He stated that the impact was severe, leading to the instant death of Kale and Nangre.
Injured Passengers
Two other passengers in the SUV sustained injuries and were admitted to a private hospital in Sendhwa. Bhushan, 25, from Pune, is engaged in the mineral water business, while Omkar, 26, from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, owns a medical store. Both are reported to be in stable condition.
Police have informed the families of the victims. The deceased were close friends and had embarked on a road trip together. Aniket Kale was a well-known figure in club cricket circles in his hometown, while Badrinath Nangre owned a restaurant and bar.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are conducting further investigations into the accident. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. Police are also examining the possibility of negligence or other factors contributing to the crash.
