According to an investigation officer, the trio targeted a house in Pollachi. The house belongs to Sheikh Javid, a 37-year-old resident of Jothi Nagar. The burglary took place on January 14.

Javid was away in Nagapattinam at the time. He had gone there to celebrate the Pongal festival. The burglars broke into his empty house.

They stole several valuable items. The loot included gold ornaments weighing 3.5 sovereigns. They also took some silver articles and a laptop.
