Mahendragarh: An argument over a cold meal ended in murder when 28-year-old Saraswati allegedly stabbed her husband, Shashikant, 31, to death at their home in Surani village, Mahendragarh district. Police have arrested the accused and recovered the murder weapon.
Background of the Couple
The couple married in 2023, the second marriage for both. They have a two-year-old son. According to a complaint filed by the victim's father, Ramkumar, the couple frequently quarrelled over domestic issues.
Incident Details
Ramkumar said a dispute broke out around 10 am on Sunday after Shashikant, a welder, was served cold food. Although Ramkumar attempted to intervene, moments later he heard his son screaming. He said he rushed into the room to find Shashikant bleeding profusely from the neck while Saraswati was attempting to flee. Shashikant died of his injuries before medical help could arrive.
Police Investigation
Sadar Narnaul SHO sub-inspector Dharambir said a forensic unit has collected evidence from the scene, and police have seized a kitchen knife used in the attack. A murder case has been registered. Saraswati was produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody. Following a post-mortem examination, Shashikant's body was handed over to his family for final rites.
