Congress Leader's Nephew Questioned Over Fake Letter

Kozhikode: Police have questioned Ajith Kumar, the nephew of senior Congress leader and Kannur MP K Sudhakaran, in connection with a case registered on the complaint by KPCC president Sunny Joseph. The case pertains to a fake letter bearing Joseph's name that was circulated on social media ahead of the recently held assembly polls.

Police have registered an FIR based on Joseph's complaint. He had approached the Election Commission and the Director General of Police, seeking action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against those who fabricated and circulated the forged letter. Police recorded Ajith's statement based on the statements from persons who had circulated the letter on social media.

The fake letter purportedly addressed to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge stated that Sudhakaran had no chance of winning if fielded in the Kannur assembly seat. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
