Khargone Constable Suspended After Viral Video Shows Ruckus at Police Station
Cop Suspended for Ruckus at Bhikangaon Police Station

A police constable in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district has been suspended following a major incident of indiscipline, captured in a video that spread rapidly across social media platforms. The constable, identified as Deepak Yadav, posted at the Bhikangaon police station, was seen creating a significant disturbance on the premises, allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Viral Video Captures Chaotic Scene

The video, which began circulating widely on Tuesday night, shows Constable Deepak Yadav in a highly agitated state inside the police station. In the footage, he is seen using abusive language and behaving in an unruly manner with his senior officers. The incident occurred in the presence of the station in-charge, Gulab Singh Rawat.

Several police personnel can be seen attempting to calm him down. Some colleagues were heard appealing to him to think of his family and children, urging him not to escalate the situation further. The video also shows him misbehaving with woman Sub-Inspector Reena Ikka, who is heard telling him that he loses control after drinking alcohol. Another policeman is heard asking Yadav to leave as his duty hours were over.

Official Action and Statement from Senior Police

Taking swift action after the video went viral, Khargone Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravindra Verma suspended Constable Deepak Yadav and attached his line. The action was based on allegations of indiscipline and unruly behaviour on police station premises.

SP Verma informed that a preliminary inquiry was conducted, leading to the disciplinary action. He also ordered further departmental proceedings in the case. However, the SP noted a key point: "A medical examination could not be conducted since the constable left the station after the incident. So, it could not be conclusively established whether he was intoxicated or not," he stated.

What Triggered the Incident?

According to Station In-charge Gulab Singh Rawat, the trouble began when Head Constable Pappu Kushwaha asked Yadav to take a police vehicle for official work. Yadav, reportedly in an intoxicated state, got into an argument over this matter. The disagreement quickly escalated into a full-blown disturbance, leading to the chaotic scene recorded in the video.

The suspension highlights the department's stance on maintaining discipline. The case continues with ongoing departmental proceedings to determine the final outcome and any further penalties.
