Cop's House Burgled: Gold, Cash Stolen in Tarn Taran

Burglary at Policeman's Home in Tarn Taran

Eight-and-a-half tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 5 lakh in cash were stolen from the house of Ashishpal Singh, a policeman posted with the Deputy Commissioner's security, in Pakhoke village, Tarn Taran. The incident occurred on June 19 while Singh's mother and sister were present in the house.

According to Ashishpal, he had left at 3 a.m. to pay obeisance at the Darbar Sahib. During his absence, thieves broke open a cupboard and stole the gold ornaments belonging to his sister and the cash he had saved to buy a car.

Police Investigation Underway

ASI Inderjit Singh from the local Sadar police station inspected the scene and registered a case under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the BNS. Police are examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the suspects.
