Couple Nabbed in Coimbatore with Massive Haul of Cannabis Chocolates
Police in Coimbatore city made a significant narcotics bust on Friday, arresting two individuals, including a woman, for allegedly procuring a large quantity of ganja-infused chocolates through an online transaction. The seizure weighed a substantial 29 kilograms, highlighting a modern method of drug peddling.
The Arrest and the Accused
The operation led to the apprehension of V Archanapriya, aged 25, from Sathyamangalam, and her boyfriend Kishore, aged 26, from Mayiladuthurai. Law enforcement officials acted on specific intelligence received by the Chennai police, who tracked the online purchase. The duo was taken into custody right at the moment of delivery at Archanapriya's residence in Coimbatore.
Following their arrest, the suspects were formally handed over to the RS Puram police for further legal proceedings. The police have registered a case against them under multiple stringent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Initial inquiries by the police uncovered that the arrested pair had planned a trip to Goa and intended to consume the narcotic chocolates there. This detail points to personal use, though the large quantity raises further questions.
