In a dramatic operation, Haryana police apprehended suspected cow smugglers following a fierce gunfight in the early hours of Thursday. The incident took place near a village in the state, where a police patrol team intercepted a vehicle allegedly involved in illegal cattle transportation.
Details of the Encounter
According to police officials, the patrol team signaled the suspicious vehicle to stop, but the occupants opened fire instead. The police retaliated, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. Two suspects sustained injuries and were subsequently arrested. The others managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
Recovery of Weapons and Cattle
From the vehicle, police recovered three illegal firearms, ammunition, and several cows believed to be stolen. The injured accused were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment under police custody.
