Crime Branch ASI Selvaraj Dies in Road Accident in Kerala

A crime branch Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Selvaraj, aged 48, who was undergoing treatment after sustaining injuries in a road accident, died on Sunday. He was a resident of Balaramapuram.

Accident Details

Selvaraj was injured after being hit by a KSRTC bus and a motorcycle near a shop in Vizhinjam around 5:25 pm on Saturday. He was rushed to a private hospital and had been under treatment since the incident. However, he succumbed to his injuries a day later.

Investigation Underway

Police said Selvaraj was returning home after visiting the newly opened crime branch office in Muttathara, carrying official files, when the accident occurred. The circumstances leading to the crash are being examined. Selvaraj was known among colleagues for his dedication to duty. Police registered the case and began the investigation.

Funeral and Family

The funeral service was completed at his home. He is survived by his wife, Manju Selvaraj, and sons Vineesh and Jagan.
