CRPF Constable Ends Life in Tirupati, Financial Woes Emerge as Key Factor
In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a CRPF constable took his own life in Tirupati on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as K Chenna Reddy, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room in the LIC colony located in the Kotha Indla locality of Punganur.

According to Punganur CI Subbarayudu, Chenna Reddy, a resident of Regadi Kothur village in Bukkarayasamudram mandal of Anantapur district, had recently joined as a security personnel. He was assigned to the Y-plus category security detail for Bharata Chaitanya Yuvajana (BCY) party chief Bode Ramachandra Yadav.
Fellow CRPF jawans reported that on Thursday evening, Chenna Reddy had a cup of tea at the BCY chief's residence before returning to his room. It was only later that night when another CRPF jawan visited the room that the suicide was discovered. The constable had allegedly used a bed sheet to hang himself from the ceiling.
Police Investigation and Initial Findings
Punganur police promptly arrived at the scene, conducted a thorough inspection, and unmounted the body. The remains were shifted to the government hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have registered a case and are actively investigating the circumstances that led to this extreme step.
A preliminary investigation has uncovered distressing personal circumstances. Chenna Reddy's wife is eight months pregnant, and the family was grappling with severe financial debt alongside domestic issues. These factors are being considered as potential motivations for the suicide.

BCY chief Bode Ramachandra Yadav expressed deep anguish over the incident. In a statement to TOI, he said, "He recently joined my security detail. It remains unclear why he committed suicide. He had a cup of tea with other CRPF jawans at my residence on Thursday evening and went to his room, where he hanged himself to death, unfortunately. It was learnt that he was facing severe debt-related issues, which led him to the verge of committing suicide."
The police continue to probe the case, aiming to piece together the full narrative behind this heartbreaking event. The community and authorities are left mourning the loss of a security personnel while highlighting the critical need for mental health support and financial assistance for those in distress.
