CRPF Vehicle Plunges into Canal in Srinagar, Injuring Seven Personnel
At least seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel sustained injuries after their vehicle plunged into a canal in Srinagar on Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the Ahmadnagar area on the outskirts of the city, where the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the road and fall into the waterway.
Injured Personnel Rushed to Hospital, All Reported Stable
The injured CRPF personnel were immediately transported to the Shri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences for urgent medical treatment. An official confirmed that all seven individuals are in stable condition following the accident. The vehicle involved in the mishap was later retrieved from the canal by rescue teams, as authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the loss of control.
Suspicious Object Detected and Neutralized in Ganderbal District
In a separate security-related incident, a suspicious object was detected and subsequently neutralized in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The object was found along the Safapora-Ganderbal road on Saturday morning, prompting security forces to cordon off the area and implement traffic restrictions as a precautionary measure.
SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal stated that it remains uncertain whether the object was an improvised explosive device (IED), with investigations ongoing to determine its nature. A bomb disposal squad was called to the scene to handle the situation, and the object was safely neutralized. Police have not yet released an official statement regarding this incident, leaving details pending further inquiry.
