Neighbors reported hearing a loud blast from the fourth-floor shop, prompting them to raise an immediate alarm. The fire department was alerted without delay, and fire tenders from the high court fire station rushed to the scene. Firefighters worked swiftly to extinguish the flames and secure the area.
The injured were quickly identified and transported to Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital for emergency treatment. Among the victims is Suman Paul, the owner of the jewellery shop who resides in Vyasarpadi, along with six employees who were present at the time of the explosion.

The burn injuries sustained in the blast are reported to be severe. Suman Paul, the shop owner, suffered approximately 40% burn injuries. One employee, identified as Aravind, sustained 30% burn injuries, while the remaining five employees each sustained 20% burn injuries.
