The Dabwali police have arrested a security agent (police EASI) and a home guard after a video showing them allegedly extorting money from a local medical store owner went viral on social media. The arrested accused are security agent (SA) Inderpal and home guard Veerpal.

Dabwali police officials said that both were taken into custody following a preliminary investigation. The duo allegedly extorted money from the shopkeeper by threatening him with action. A case has been registered under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and other relevant legal sections.
Viral CCTV Footage
The controversy erupted after CCTV footage from a medical store in Jogewala village surfaced online. The video quickly gained traction, showing the two officials conducting an inspection and subsequently receiving cash from the shop owner. Following the emergence of the footage, Inderpal was initially recalled from duty and placed under suspension.
Details of the Incident
According to investigators, the duo had entered the medical store under the pretext of checking medicines. The CCTV footage reportedly shows them questioning the shopkeeper before approaching the counter, where the owner is seen taking out ₹2,000 from the cash drawer and handing it over to Inderpal, who pockets the money before both accused leave the premises.
Legal Action
The police have registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and other relevant sections. Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused were involved in similar extortion activities elsewhere. The arrest has been widely welcomed by local residents who hope it will deter such misconduct by uniformed personnel.
