Tension gripped the Kasba area of Dahod town in Gujarat on Tuesday afternoon after a violent clash between two groups escalated into gunfire, leaving two persons injured. The Dahod police have launched a major manhunt to apprehend two accused brothers who allegedly opened fire during the altercation.

Violence Erupts in Kasba Area

The incident occurred on December 24, 2025. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dahod, Jagdish Bhandari, the accused brothers, identified as Ejaz Khan Pathan and Irshad Khan Pathan, were involved in a heated verbal argument with a group of individuals. The situation turned violent when the brothers allegedly opened fire at a man named Faizan Maulvi, who was reportedly attempting to mediate and calm the situation.

Injuries and Police Response

The firing resulted in injuries to two individuals. Faizan Maulvi sustained a bullet wound in his stomach and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. A bystander, identified as Saqeen Malek, was also injured in the incident. Police officials stated that a total of five rounds were fired during the clash, causing panic in the locality as people ran for cover.

Police teams, including officers from the Local Crime Branch, Special Operations Group, and units of Dahod A and Dahod B Division police stations, swiftly reached the spot and cordoned off the area. An FIR has been registered at the Dahod A Division police station under serious charges including attempt to murder and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Ongoing Investigation and Manhunt

Preliminary investigation by the police indicates that a mauser pistol was used in the firing. DSP Bhandari revealed that the Pathan brothers have a history of altercations and physical fights with a rival group in the locality, and Faizan Maulvi was perceived to be part of that opposing group. As of now, both Ejaz and Irshad Pathan are absconding, and a massive search operation is underway to arrest them. The probe into the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the clash continues.
