Vadodara: Dahod police have successfully dismantled the gang responsible for the Rs 1.46 crore robbery of an angadia firm employee that occurred on May 27. On Saturday, authorities arrested four suspects and recovered cash and valuables worth Rs 1.35 crore.

Gang's Modus Operandi

According to police, the gang meticulously conducted a recce of the victim's movements before executing the robbery. Investigators revealed that the accused were traced within hours of the incident.

“We have arrested four accused, while four others are still absconding. Some of them have multiple criminal cases registered against them,” a police official stated.

Details of the Accused

The arrested individuals have been identified as Atul Bhuriya, Parmeshwar Palash, Govind Mohaniya, and Alpesh Panda. The remaining suspects—Arjun Amaliya, Avichal Palash, Jignesh Hathila, and Laxman Palash—are still at large and efforts are underway to apprehend them.

Police confirmed that cash and valuables worth Rs 1.35 crore have been recovered from the arrested accused. Notably, Atul and Parmeshwar have previous criminal records involving loot, dacoity, burglary, and theft.

The Robbery Incident

The robbery took place on May 27 when an employee of an angadia firm was traveling along APMC Road, carrying Rs 1.41 crore in cash and parcels valued at Rs 5 lakh. The accused, riding two motorcycles, allegedly attacked the employee and snatched bags containing the cash and valuables before fleeing the scene.

Investigation and Breakthrough

Following the incident, multiple teams, including personnel from the Local Crime Branch and Special Operations Group, launched a thorough investigation. Police meticulously scanned CCTV footage from the area and obtained images of the accused escaping on motorcycles, which proved instrumental in tracking down the suspects.

The swift action by law enforcement underscores their commitment to bringing perpetrators to justice and recovering stolen assets. Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
