In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, an 18-year-old tribal girl was brutally hacked to death by her own cousin in a village under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station in Daltonganj. The deceased has been identified as Khushbu Kumari, a young tribal woman whose life was tragically cut short. The assailant, her 23-year-old cousin Bittu Singh, allegedly took his own life shortly after committing the murder. According to police reports, Bittu Singh committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train between the Chiyanki and Kechki railway stations.
Discovery of the Bodies and Police Response
Khushbu Kumari's body was discovered in a room at her uncle's home in Chiyanki, bearing fatal wounds to the neck that suggest she died on the spot. Officer in charge of the Sadar police station, Lalji, confirmed that an axe believed to be the murder weapon has been seized as evidence. Approximately two hours later and roughly 2 kilometers away, Bittu Singh's body was found on the railway tracks by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), as stated by Daltonganj railway station superintendent Umesh Kumar Singh.
