Gaya: The cyber police have registered a case against a man identified as Rajesh Rao alias Sardar for allegedly issuing a death threat to Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi in a viral post. The video surfaced on a social media platform on Wednesday, prompting immediate action from law enforcement.
Details of the Incident
According to a press note released by the office of Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar, the cyber police station detected the video during routine social media monitoring. The statement highlighted that a Facebook video came to light in which a man was seen issuing a death threat, using casteist language, and making objectionable remarks against the Union minister.
Investigation and Progress
The press note further stated that the accused’s Facebook profile was traced as Rajesh Rao alias Sardar during a late-night technical investigation. A case has been registered at the cyber police station. Police are conducting raids at suspected locations linked to the accused and are also analysing social media activity and technical evidence related to the video. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the individual involved in the threat.
