Death threat to UP minister via Dial-112; case filed

Kanpur Dehat police have registered a case and initiated a search operation following a death threat allegedly made to Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan through a call to the Dial-112 emergency service.

Incident Details

Devipur outpost in-charge Ateendra Kumar reported that on June 1 at 2:21 pm, constable Shyammilan, posted at PRB Devipur, received information that Rammilan, a resident of Makholi village in the Reuna area of Kanpur Nagar, had called Dial-112 and issued a death threat to Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan. Taking the matter seriously, the police immediately launched an investigation.

Police Action

The Devipur outpost in-charge later submitted a written complaint at the Bhognipur police station, leading to the registration of an FIR against the accused. A police team has been deployed to search for the suspect, and technical evidence related to the call is being gathered to trace the caller's identity.

Station House Officer Suman Dixit stated, “A case has been registered based on the information received from PRV. The matter is under investigation, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest.”

Ongoing Investigation

A police official privy to the investigation revealed that technical evidence related to the call is being collected to quickly identify the person who made the threat. Authorities are also probing the motive behind the threat and investigating whether the accused has connections with any organization or other individuals.

The police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of the minister and to bring the perpetrator to justice.
