Ludhiana: A decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered near Sahnewal airport on Tuesday night, sending shockwaves through the area. The grim discovery was made by a passerby who had stopped to relieve himself and noticed the body wrapped in a mosquito net. He immediately alerted the local authorities.
Police Investigation Underway
Inspector Kulbir Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Focal Point police station, stated that the body appears to have been lying there for at least a week, given its advanced state of decomposition. The victim's identity remains unknown, and the cause of death can only be confirmed after an autopsy report is received.
Body Kept for Identification
As per standard procedure, the police have preserved the body in the mortuary for a period of 72 hours to allow for possible identification by family members or acquaintances. If no one comes forward, further legal steps will be taken.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the deceased to come forward and assist in the investigation.
