Dehradun Woman Found Dead in Forest House, Suspected Drug Overdose

In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old woman was discovered deceased inside a dilapidated house located in a forested area of Dehradun's Raipur locality on Monday. Police authorities are currently investigating the case, with initial suspicions pointing towards a possible drug overdose as the cause of death.

Police Investigation and Family Details

Senior police officers, including the SP (City) and SP (Rural–Vikasnagar), promptly visited the scene to oversee the preliminary investigation. The deceased woman was identified, and her family members were duly informed of the unfortunate event.

According to police statements, the woman had a documented history of drug addiction. She had recently returned to her home from a rehabilitation centre approximately 15 days prior to the incident. Family members disclosed to investigators that she had left home three days before her body was found.

Further details revealed that the woman had been married for three years and was the mother of a two-year-old son. Her husband, who is also reported to be a drug addict, is currently undergoing treatment at a separate rehabilitation centre.

Official Statements and Post-Mortem

SSP Pramendra Dobal addressed the media, stating that the initial investigation strongly suggests a drug overdose as the likely cause of death. "The body has been sent to a nearby hospital for a comprehensive post-mortem examination. A thorough probe is currently underway to ascertain all facts," Dobal emphasized.

The authorities are meticulously examining the circumstances surrounding her death, including her recent activities and potential drug use, to confirm the overdose theory and rule out any foul play.

Separate Incident in Premnagar

In a separate and equally distressing incident earlier on Wednesday, police discovered the body of another woman in a forested area of Premnagar, Dehradun. The body was found stuffed inside a plastic sack, with preliminary assessments indicating it was three to four days old.

The woman is estimated to be around 35 years old, but her identity remains unknown at this time. Police have launched an investigation into this case as well, working to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.

These back-to-back incidents have raised concerns in the Dehradun region, highlighting issues related to drug addiction and public safety in secluded forest areas. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help prevent such tragedies in the future.
