Significance of the Operation

This operation marks one of the most significant drug busts at the Indira Gandhi International Airport this year. Hydroponic weed, a high-potency cannabis variant cultivated without soil, is known for its higher THC content and is often smuggled due to its premium value in the illicit market.

The customs officials have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and investigations are ongoing to trace the source and intended destination of the contraband.
