Teen Love Triangle in Delhi Escalates to Blade Attack, Arson, and Gunfire
A violent feud between two teenage girls over a 17-year-old boy in southwest Delhi's RK Puram area has spiraled into a shocking series of criminal incidents, including a blade attack, arson, and firing, according to police reports. The conflict, which began with a simple confrontation in a park, rapidly intensified, drawing in family members and associates, and culminating in late-night violence that left the community in shock.
Park Confrontation Sparks Initial Violence
The dispute originated on February 22 when one of the girls allegedly discovered her boyfriend with another girl in a park located in RK Puram's Sector 3. Enraged by this sighting, she confronted the other girl directly, accusing her of attempting to "take away" her boyfriend. This initial altercation set the stage for more severe retaliation.
Later that same day, the aggrieved girl returned to the scene with her sister and a group of six to seven boys. Together, they allegedly launched an attack on the other girl, who was still in the company of the boy. During this assault, a blade was used, resulting in the victim suffering a deep cut across her cheek and multiple injuries on other parts of her body. She was subsequently rushed to Safdarjung Hospital for medical treatment, where she received care for her wounds.
Retaliation Leads to Arson and Gunfire
The situation took an even more dangerous turn when the injured girl's brother, who is reportedly a local criminal currently lodged in Tihar Jail, learned about the attack. In response, he allegedly instructed an associate to seek revenge on his behalf. On February 24, a group of seven to eight men on motorcycles began scouring the lanes of RK Puram in search of the other girl involved in the initial dispute.
When they spotted and chased her, the girl fled into the narrow lanes of Parvatiya Camp and sought refuge by entering a house. Mistaking this residence for her home, the pursuing group allegedly targeted it with violent intent. They poured petrol on the gate and various parts of the house before setting it ablaze. As flames engulfed the structure, the attackers fired several rounds of gunshots into the air before fleeing the scene, adding to the chaos and fear in the neighborhood.
Police Action and Arrests
In the aftermath of these incidents, law enforcement authorities have taken swift action. Police officials confirmed that two individuals have been arrested, and three minors have been apprehended in connection with the case. Those detained include people from both sides of the conflict, indicating the widespread involvement in the escalating violence. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the full sequence of events and ensure justice is served.
This case highlights the severe consequences that can arise from personal disputes, especially when they involve young individuals and criminal elements. The community in RK Puram remains on edge as police continue their efforts to maintain order and prevent further incidents.
