Delhi Man Fatally Stabbed in Faridabad After Altercation with Girlfriend's Family
In a tragic incident late on Tuesday, a 26-year-old man from Delhi was stabbed to death in Faridabad following a heated dispute with his girlfriend's family at their residence. The deceased, identified as Manas Rai, was a resident of Jaitpur in Delhi and worked as a computer operator in Chandigarh. On Wednesday, Rai had gone to meet his girlfriend in Roshan Nagar, Faridabad, accompanied by his friend Harsh. The visit turned deadly when tensions arose with the girlfriend's family.
According to police reports, the altercation began when the girlfriend's younger sister objected to Rai's presence at their home. "As tensions rose, she called some acquaintances to the spot. Soon after, five youths—Aman, Prince, Roshan, Rahul, and a minor—reached the location and confronted Rai," stated an officer involved in the investigation.
Escalation to Violence and Aftermath
The argument rapidly turned violent, with the accused initially assaulting Rai with punches and kicks. During the scuffle, one of the accused, Aman, pulled out a knife and stabbed Rai multiple times. Harsh, Rai's friend, sustained injuries on his hand while attempting to intervene and stop the attack.
Hearing the commotion, neighbors gathered around the house, which prompted the attackers to flee the scene. Police arrived promptly and rushed Rai to a nearby private hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Rai's family was informed of the incident, and his father subsequently filed a formal complaint with the police. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination was conducted.
