Delhi Murder: Cousin Arrested After Police Shootout

Two days after a woman and her 13-year-old son were found murdered at their residence in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri, police arrested the woman's cousin in connection with the case. Investigators said the accused allegedly harbored resentment over what he saw as a lack of financial support from the family.

Accused Identified as Saurabh

The accused, identified as Saurabh, is the son of the deceased woman's uncle. Police said they received a tip-off about Saurabh's whereabouts while he was sitting in a park allegedly consuming drugs. A police team reached the spot to apprehend him.

Police Shootout During Arrest

When cops asked him to surrender, Saurabh allegedly fired at them. Police returned fire, during which he sustained a bullet injury to his leg before being overpowered and arrested. During questioning, police said Saurabh admitted to being addicted to drugs and claimed he had become resentful toward his cousin, Sharda, because he believed she was financially well-off but did not help him.
