Delhi Murder Case: Father-in-Law Arrested for Killing Son-in-Law Over Loan Dispute

In a shocking incident in northwest Delhi, a 70-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his son-in-law over a financial dispute involving a loan of Rs 30,000. The tragic event unfolded in the Kanjhawala area on March 16, leading to a swift police investigation and arrest.

Police Response and Initial Findings

Police received a PCR call on March 16 reporting a quarrel in Kanjhawala. Upon arrival, a local police team discovered that the injured man, identified as Aglu (55), had already been taken to a hospital. Tragically, Aglu later succumbed to his injuries at the medical facility.

DCP (Rohini) Shashank Jaiswal stated that the deceased's wife informed police that the quarrel originated from a dispute over Rs 30,000 borrowed by the couple from her father, Dinesh. Based on this information, authorities promptly registered a case and launched a comprehensive investigation.

Investigation and Arrest Details

The police investigation employed multiple techniques including:

  • Local inquiries in the Kanjhawala area
  • Technical surveillance methods
  • Human intelligence inputs from community sources

Initial leads suggested the accused might have fled to his native village in Bihar's Samastipur district. A specialized police team was immediately dispatched to Bihar to pursue this lead.

However, based on secret information received during the investigation, police instead raided a hideout near the Kanjhawala industrial area. This operation resulted in the successful arrest of the 70-year-old accused.

Confession and Crime Details

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. He explained that he had lent Rs 30,000 to his son-in-law for building a house, but the borrower had failed to repay the amount. This financial disagreement escalated into a heated argument between the two men.

The confrontation turned violent when the accused allegedly assaulted his son-in-law with a stick, causing injuries that ultimately proved fatal. Police have seized both the weapon of offense and the clothes the accused was wearing at the time of the incident as crucial evidence in the case.

The investigation continues as authorities work to gather additional evidence and build a comprehensive case against the accused. This tragic incident highlights how financial disputes within families can sometimes escalate to violent extremes, with devastating consequences for all involved.
