Nearly a month after a robbery of Rs 70 lakh near Krishi Kunj in west Delhi's Inderpuri, the police have arrested four individuals, including an employee who allegedly shared information about the cash movement. The incident occurred on March 31 around 3:30 pm when two employees of a businessman were intercepted by three motorcycle-borne assailants and robbed of the cash. A case was registered at Inderpuri police station on April 1.
Investigation Reveals Inside Job
The police team discovered that the robbery was not random but the result of a planned conspiracy. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Darade Sharad Bhaskar stated, “Vikash (22), an employee of the complainant, leaked details about the movement of cash and joined hands with his associates to execute the crime.” The other accused are Mohammad Kaif (25), a dairy businessman; Rishi Yadav (22), a second-year BA student; and Sourabh (23), an auto driver.
Arrests and Recovery
After multiple raids across Delhi and nearby areas of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, all four accused were apprehended. Police recovered Rs 53.4 lakh from their possession along with the motorcycle used in the robbery. “The swift action by the police team led to the recovery of a significant portion of the stolen amount,” the DCP added.
Criminal Backgrounds
Two of the accused have previous criminal involvement. Yadav is linked to a 2025 case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Ranhola police station, while Sourabh was involved in a 2021 case under the Arms Act. This indicates a pattern of criminal behavior among the suspects.
Further investigation is underway to trace the remaining stolen amount and to ascertain whether more people were involved in the conspiracy. Police are also examining the roles of the accused in detail to ensure all aspects of the case are covered.
