Delhi Police Arrests Proclaimed Offender in Rs 60 Lakh Cheating Case

The IP Estate Police in Delhi's Central District arrested a 39-year-old proclaimed offender, Mukesh Kumar, from the domestic terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport on July 10, 2026, in connection with a Rs 60 lakh cheating case. The arrest was made after sustained technical surveillance and manual intelligence gathering, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Accused Evaded Court Proceedings

Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Techzone-4 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, had been declared a proclaimed offender by a Delhi court on July 25, 2025, after evading judicial proceedings. The case stems from an FIR registered at IP Estate police station under Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged documents as genuine), and 34 (common intention). The court of JMFC Preeti issued the proclamation order.

Police Operation and Arrest

According to police, the team repeatedly visited Kumar's residence, maintained technical surveillance, and gathered intelligence through local sources and secret informers. On July 10, specific information indicated his presence at the domestic terminal of IGI Airport. Acting on the tip-off, police conducted a raid and apprehended him. After verifying court records, the accused was formally arrested. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
