Senior officials from the Ministry of Rural Development are scheduled to visit Karnataka to conduct a comprehensive review of key rural development schemes. The visit, confirmed by sources within the ministry, will focus on assessing the implementation and effectiveness of multiple flagship programs aimed at improving rural infrastructure, livelihoods, and social security.
Schemes Under Review
The review will cover the Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojana (VB-GRAMG), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), and the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). These schemes are critical for addressing rural poverty, housing, employment, connectivity, and social welfare.
Objectives of the Visit
The primary objective is to evaluate progress against set targets, identify bottlenecks in implementation, and gather feedback from beneficiaries and local officials. The team will hold meetings with state government representatives, district collectors, and block-level officers. Field visits to select villages are also planned to inspect completed and ongoing projects under PMAY-G and PMGSY, and to verify muster rolls and asset creation under MGNREGS.
