Delhi Police Crime Branch Arrests Third Accused in Fake Protein Supplement Case
In a significant crackdown on counterfeit health products, the Delhi Police crime branch has arrested a third co-accused involved in the alleged supply of fake protein supplements. This arrest follows the earlier apprehension of two individuals, identified as Mohit Tiwari and Mohit Dixit, who were taken into custody in connection with the same illicit operation.
Raid Leads to Discovery of Illegal Manufacturing Unit
Based on disclosures made by the previously arrested accused, police investigators traced and located Naveen Kumar, aged 32. A targeted raid was subsequently conducted in Rani Khera village, where authorities uncovered another illegal manufacturing unit. This facility was actively engaged in the preparation and packaging of counterfeit protein supplements, according to police statements.
Extensive Seizures of Counterfeit Materials and Equipment
The raid resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of materials and equipment used in the production of fake supplements. Key items confiscated include:
- 26 sealed plastic containers
- 185 fake stickers
- 49 fake holograms
- 313 fake seals
- 177 empty plastic jars
- 20 bags of raw materials, with 10 bags weighing 25 kg each
- Flavored raw material
In addition to these materials, machinery and equipment essential for the manufacturing process were also seized by the police. This comprehensive haul underscores the scale and sophistication of the illegal operation, which posed potential health risks to consumers relying on these supplements for fitness and nutritional needs.
The arrest of Naveen Kumar marks a crucial step in dismantling this counterfeit network, as authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the racket and its distribution channels. The Delhi Police have emphasized their commitment to cracking down on such fraudulent activities that endanger public health and violate consumer trust.
