New Delhi: In a successful operation, Delhi Police rescued four women after busting an alleged prostitution racket operating from a building on Qutub Road in Paharganj. The raid was conducted on Thursday following a tip-off about illegal activities at the premises.
Operation Details
A team from Nabi Karim police station was formed to verify the information. A constable was deployed as a decoy customer to confirm the illegal activities, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh.
After confirming the racket, police raided the premises and arrested a 29-year-old man identified as Shahrukh, who is accused of running the operation. Four women were rescued during the raid.
Legal Action
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the owner of the rented property under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Separate FIRs have been registered under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the BNS.
Police seized relevant evidence from the premises. Further investigation is underway to determine the involvement of other individuals linked to the alleged racket.
