Delhi Police Secures Top Spot on National Crime Tracking Dashboard in January 2026
In a significant achievement for law enforcement, Delhi Police has clinched the number one position among all states and Union territories on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) Pragati dashboard for the first month of 2026. This dashboard, closely monitored by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), serves as a critical tool for evaluating digital performance in policing across India.
Comprehensive Evaluation Framework
The ranking is based on a rigorous assessment of 15 key performance indicators, ensuring a holistic view of police efficiency. These indicators include:
- Connectivity of police stations to the national network
- Establishment of disaster recovery centres for data security
- Data migration and synchronisation at state and national data centres
- Electronic submission of First Information Reports (FIRs) to courts
- Availability of citizen services through state portals
- Regular review meetings under the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) framework
The CCTNS is a nationwide e-governance initiative implemented by the NCRB, designed to connect police stations through a unified digital platform. It facilitates online FIR registration, case tracking, and seamless data sharing among states under the ICJS, enhancing coordination and transparency in criminal justice processes.
Sustained Excellence and Strategic Efforts
This is not the first time Delhi Police has excelled in this arena. In the previous year, the force secured the top position with a perfect 100% score for October, November, and December, demonstrating consistent performance. Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastva attributed this success to a multi-faceted approach.
"Our achievement stems from continuous monitoring of data quality and compliance, real-time coordination with districts and police stations, timely resolution of technical and procedural challenges, and regular guidance and capacity-building of field units," Srivastva stated. He emphasised that the efforts of all police districts have been equally instrumental, with officers ensuring strict adherence to timelines, prompt and accurate updating of investigation records, effective digitisation of data, and close coordination with supervisory and technical teams.
Additional Recognition in Equestrian Competitions
Beyond digital accolades, Delhi Police has also showcased its versatility by participating in the 44th All India Police Equestrian Competition and Mounted Police Duty Meet, held at the Border Security Force Academy. The team won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal in show jumping events, highlighting their commitment to excellence across various domains of policing.
This dual recognition underscores Delhi Police's dedication to leveraging technology for improved law enforcement while maintaining traditional skills, setting a benchmark for other states and Union territories to follow in the evolving landscape of crime management.
