The Delhi Police have apprehended three sharpshooters linked to the notorious Nandu gang, along with two individuals believed to be key weapon suppliers. The arrests were made during a series of coordinated raids across the national capital and its adjoining areas.
Operation Details
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police conducted targeted operations in several locations, including the outer districts of Delhi. The gang members, identified as Ravi, Sonu, and Vikas, were allegedly involved in multiple cases of extortion and attempted murder. The two weapon suppliers, identified as Mohit and Deepak, were found in possession of a cache of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Recoveries Made
From the possession of the accused, the police recovered three sophisticated pistols, a large quantity of live cartridges, and several mobile phones used for criminal communication. The police also seized a vehicle that was allegedly used for transporting the weapons.
The Nandu gang has been active in the Delhi-NCR region for several years, with its members known for their involvement in violent crimes, including targeted shootings and extortion rackets. The recent arrests are seen as a major breakthrough in curbing the gang's activities.
Senior police officials confirmed that the accused are being interrogated to gather more information about the gang's network and potential future targets. Further investigations are underway to trace the source of the illegal weapons and identify other associates of the gang.
