Delhi Traffic Police Announces Traffic Restrictions for Honey Singh Concert at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium

In anticipation of a major concert by popular artist Honey Singh, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory outlining significant traffic restrictions and diversions around the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, located near Raj Ghat. The measures will be enforced on Saturday, with officials warning of potential congestion and disruptions throughout the day.

Timing and Expected Congestion

According to the advisory released on Friday, traffic congestion is highly likely between 2 pm and 10 pm. This period coincides with the arrival of spectators for the concert, which is scheduled to take place at the stadium from 4 pm to 11 pm. Authorities urge commuters to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.

Affected Roads and Diversions

The roads expected to witness heavy traffic include IP Marg (also known as MGM Road), Vikas Marg, and the stretch of Ring Road between Rajghat and IP Depot. To manage the flow, traffic diversions and restrictions will be actively implemented on IP Marg and Vikas Marg. Additionally, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from using the stretch between Rajghat and IP Marg during the specified hours.

Parking Regulations and Enforcement

Parking will not be permitted on Ring Road between Rajghat and the IP Flyover on both carriageways. Vehicles found parked along the roadside in this area will be towed away immediately, and strict legal action will be taken against violators. The advisory emphasizes that only limited parking will be available near the stadium, exclusively for vehicles displaying valid parking labels on their windscreens. Unauthorized vehicles without these labels will not be allowed near the venue.

Spectator Entry Arrangements

To facilitate smooth entry for concert-goers, police have planned access through multiple gates of the stadium. Entry to Gates 7 and 8 on Velodrome Road will be allowed via Velodrome Road itself. Meanwhile, Gates 21 and 22, as well as Gates 16 and 18 on Ring Road, will be accessible from MGM Road. These arrangements aim to minimize chaos and ensure a orderly experience for attendees.

The Delhi Traffic Police advises all residents and visitors to stay informed about these restrictions and consider alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during the event.
