Delhi Tughlakabad Extension Fire: Death Toll Reaches 8
A devastating fire broke out in a residential area in Delhi's Tughlakabad Extension on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of at least eight people and injuries to 12 others. The blaze, which started in the early hours of the morning, quickly spread through a cluster of houses, trapping many residents inside.
Rescue Operations
Fire tenders rushed to the spot and rescue operations are currently underway. Delhi Fire Service officials confirmed that 12 fire engines were deployed to control the flames. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, with some in critical condition.
Casualties
The death toll has risen to eight, including two children and four women. The injured are being treated at AIIMS and other hospitals. Authorities fear the toll may rise as rescue teams continue to search the debris.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed condolences and assured all possible assistance. The Delhi government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh for the injured.
