Bareilly: Three men, including a dentist and the survivor’s husband, have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping, assaulting, and issuing death threats to a woman in Moradabad district. The accused, aged between 30 and 36 years, were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody, police said on Saturday.
Incident Details
The case came to light after the woman, in her 30s, lodged a police complaint on Wednesday alleging that her husband, from whom she had been living separately due to prolonged domestic disputes, lured her to his friend’s dental clinic on some pretext. From there, she was allegedly taken to a house by the dentist and his brother, threatened with a surgical blade, and raped while her husband stood by. The complainant also alleged that she had earlier suffered repeated physical abuse at the hands of her husband and accused him of orchestrating the assault.
Legal Action
Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered under sections 118 (voluntarily causing hurt), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 70 (gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. “They were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody,” said SP City Ranvijay Singh.
