Growing Concerns Over Cyber Fraud and Drug Peddling Prompt Tough Measures

This aggressive initiative comes in response to mounting concerns over escalating cyber fraud cases and instances of drug peddling involving local youth. The SP highlighted that intelligence inputs consistently point to repeat offenders frequently appearing in multiple cases, necessitating tougher and more deterrent action.

"Inputs indicate that repeat offenders have been frequently surfacing in multiple cases, prompting the need for tougher, and deterrent action," the SP stated, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

Systematic Verification and Categorization of Offenders Underway

As part of this crackdown, police personnel have been instructed to conduct physical verification of individuals involved in criminal activities over the past five years. Special teams will visit the residences of these offenders to assess their current status and activities, categorizing them into three groups:

  • Group A: High-risk repeat offenders
  • Group B: Moderate-risk individuals
  • Group C: Low-risk cases

Legal Process Already Initiated Against Eight Cybercriminals

SP Saurabh revealed that the legal process to confiscate the properties of eight cybercriminals in the district has already been set in motion. Furthermore, Officers-in-Charge (OCs) have been tasked with identifying at least ten active cybercriminals within their respective jurisdictions to initiate similar property seizure actions against them.

In addition to targeting cybercrime, the SP directed officials to expedite the disposal of pending cases and strengthen overall law and order across all police station areas.

Appeal to Parents on Drug Abuse Among Minors

Addressing the related issue of drug abuse among minors, SP Saurabh made a heartfelt appeal to parents. "We are committed to helping children trapped in addiction and will extend all possible support for their rehabilitation," he assured, encouraging families to seek police assistance without hesitation.

This multi-pronged approach by the Deoghar police represents a robust response to complex criminal challenges, combining punitive measures with rehabilitative support to foster a safer community environment.
