Police Register FIR After Family Discovers Missing Jewellery
An FIR has been formally registered at the Rampur Karkhana police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district following a complaint filed by the boy's father. The father alleged that the three youths, who operate a momo stall at Dumri Chauraha on the busy Deoria–Kasya road, fled with precious jewellery belonging to the family, valued at approximately Rs 85 lakh. The incident came to light in a dramatic fashion when the boy's sister requested her jewellery for an occasion.
Family's Almirah Found Empty, Boy Confesses to Momo Exchange
Upon opening the family almirah, the horrified family discovered that all their ornaments were missing. When questioned under pressure, the Class 7 student confessed to his family members that he had handed over the valuable jewellery to the three youths in exchange for momos. This revelation has raised serious questions about how the youths managed to manipulate the young boy over an extended period.
Complaint Details How Youths Befriended the Student
In his detailed complaint to the police, the father, identified as Vimlesh Mishra—a temple priest posted in Varanasi—explained that the youths had cunningly befriended his son, who stays in the village for his studies. Mishra alleged that the trio repeatedly offered momos to the boy, gradually building a rapport. Eventually, the boy was persuaded to take jewellery from the house and hand it over to them. The complainant emphasized that the stolen jewellery belonged to both his son and daughter, making the loss even more devastating for the family.

Rampur Karkhana SHO Devendra Kumar Singh confirmed that a case has been registered based on Mishra's complaint. Police authorities stated that intensive efforts are currently underway to trace the absconding accused.
