In a bizarre case that has captured public attention, Deoria police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a roadside momo vendor and his mother, claiming to have solved an unusual crime where a minor boy allegedly exchanged jewellery worth approximately Rs 85 lakh for "unlimited free momos." The incident, which unfolded in the Rampur Karkhana police station area, involved a class 7 student being enticed by the promise of complimentary fast food.

Superintendent of Police, Deoria, Sanjeev Suman, revealed that the accused were apprehended near Dumri Tiraha on Tuesday night. Following their arrest, intensive interrogation led investigators to the suspects' residence, where a significant cache of stolen silver ornaments was discovered. The recovered items included various traditional pieces such as anklets, payal, hand palani, and toe rings, highlighting the substantial value involved in this peculiar exchange.
