Violence Erupts in Dhanbad During Celebrations, Multiple Injured in Separate Incidents
Celebrations in Dhanbad district took a violent turn, resulting in several injuries across two distinct incidents involving firing and assault. Local authorities have launched investigations into both cases as they work to restore order and apprehend those responsible.
Football Ground Dispute Escalates into Gunfire
In the first incident, a clash erupted at the Barmasia Football Ground, reportedly stemming from a dispute over playing music on a DJ system and associated payment issues. The confrontation quickly escalated, leading to gunfire that injured two youths.
The injured individuals were promptly transported to Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) for treatment. Dhansar police station in-charge Manohar Karmali confirmed that the altercation was triggered by the DJ music dispute.
Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the root cause. One group alleges the violence was related to pending payments for the DJ services, while another claims it was connected to a land transaction. Police are actively investigating these claims and working to identify and arrest the accused parties involved in the shooting.
Separate Bottle Attack Leaves Three Seriously Injured
In a second, unrelated incident, three people sustained serious injuries in a bottle attack in the Udiya Patti area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Saraidhela police station. All three victims were admitted to SNMMCH for medical care.
The attack occurred when Vicky Hadi visited his sister, Rani Devi. A group of youths, allegedly in an intoxicated state, arrived and began assaulting a man nearby. When Vicky and his brother attempted to intervene, the attackers reportedly broke beer bottles and used them to assault the brothers.
Saraidhela police station in-charge Manjeet Kumar stated that police action will be initiated upon receiving a formal complaint regarding the bottle attack incident.
