A dismissed police officer has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl in Panchkula, Haryana. The incident came to light when the girl's family lodged a complaint at the local police station, stating that their daughter had gone missing and they suspected the involvement of a former policeman.
Acting on the complaint, the police launched a swift investigation and traced the accused to a location in the city. The accused, identified as a dismissed constable, was taken into custody, and the minor girl was safely recovered from his possession. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had lured the girl with promises of money and a better life.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including kidnapping, and are conducting further interrogation to ascertain the motive behind the crime. The accused has been remanded in police custody for further questioning.
This incident has raised concerns about the background checks of police personnel, even after dismissal, and the safety of minors in the region. The police department has assured that strict action will be taken against the accused, and they are also reviewing protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
