DMK, AIADMK Candidates Challenge Election Results in HC

Chennai: With the 45-day limitation period for filing an election petition nearing its end, several DMK and AIADMK candidates who lost in the Tamil Nadu assembly election have approached the Madras High Court.

Challenges Against CM Vijay and Others

DMK candidate for the Trichy East constituency, Inigo S Irudayaraj, has challenged the election of TVK chief and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. Vijay defeated Irudayaraj by a margin of 27,416 votes.

Similarly, AIADMK candidate for Gobichettipalayam, Prabhu, has challenged the election of Minister K A Sengottaiyan.

Lalgudi Constituency Dispute

DMK candidate T Parivallal has also challenged the election of AIADMK MLA Leema Rose from the Lalgudi constituency. Rose won the election with a margin of 2,379 votes. TVK candidate Ku Pa Krishnan secured second place with 58,056 votes, while the DMK was pushed to third place with 55,565 votes.

The petitioners have raised allegations of irregularities and violations of election laws. The court is expected to hear the petitions in due course.
