Driver crashes Mercedes without permission; FIR lodged

An FIR was registered on Friday against a driver employed by a business executive for allegedly taking a Mercedes-Benz car for an unauthorized drive, crashing it while speeding, and then attempting to get it repaired discreetly before the owners discovered the damage, according to police.

Incident Details

The complaint was filed at Sector 53 police station. The driver, identified as Anuj, was employed by Amit Kapoor, a resident of The Verandas Society in Sector 54. The vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz E220D with registration number HR06AQ3064, belongs to Park Non Woven Private Limited and had been provided to Kapoor for his personal use.

Puneet Pipli, an authorized representative of the company, lodged the complaint. He informed police that on May 14, around 6:30 pm, Anuj allegedly took the Mercedes-Benz from the parking area of Kapoor's society without permission. He drove the vehicle at high speed late at night and crashed it, causing damage to the left side of the bonnet. He did not inform anyone about the accident and reportedly took the car to a mechanic named Sagar on May 15.

Discovery and Legal Action

Police stated that Sagar knew Kapoor and informed him about the damaged vehicle. Kapoor then notified the company and dialed 112 to report the incident. After receiving Pipli's formal complaint, a team from Sector 53 police station verified the allegations and filed an FIR under sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust by an employee or person entrusted with property) and 324(4) (mischief causing damage to property) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
